  1. Write down someone you want to write a handwritten letter to. (Feel free to share in Comments below.)
  2. Write down a deadline for writing and mailing the letter.
  3. Get stationary. I used the floral stationary and the Jinhao Texture Fountain Pen. Check out my February Resources for other stationary and pens. Or you can find stationary and matching envelopes at a local paper shop or at Office Depot or Staples. Etsy is another option for stationary.
  4. Organize your thoughts. Outlining what you want to say if you need to sort your thoughts. Mind mapping is another option. Or if you prefer to just write as you go, then go to step #5.
  5. Write the letter. Might want to hand write on notebook paper first then transcribe onto stationary. Or type it, then transcribe on stationary. Do whatever works for you.
  6. If your handwriting is illegible like chicken scratch, type and print it on personal stationary. Then add personal touches such as signing your name at the end (highly recommend!). Spraying the letter with your cologne or perfume if a love letter, or adding a few drops of essential oils like lavender, citrus, or eucalyptus. Add letter sealer wax or stickers for another personalized touch.
  7. Mail the letter immediately or within a day. Don’t put this off!
  8. Feel free to email me with any questions or feedback. I’d love to hear from you!
