Signature Talk: Intimacy Grows on a Tree.

Talk focused on Genesis 2-3. Life eating from the Tree of Life vs. the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. The later tree disconnected us from God and intimacy, where mankind hid from God, others, and themselves. Shared my personal story of hiding from myself, others, and God because of pain and wrong labels. These labels, created by lies and misconceptions of myself, others, and God, defined my identity. They limited my capacity and inhibited me from authentic connection. God created us for intimacy and connection, not to hide from ourselves and others. But as we eat from the tree of life — God’s truth of who we are— he can remove the labels, shame, and fears and replace them with his identity, hope, and courage. Then we can develop intimate and authentic connections.
