I Need Your Opinion and a Book Club Giveaway

About a four-minute read

This month’s newsletter is full of fun with a “Book Club” Giveaway and a one-question poll.

And I’m thrilled to announce Good Tidings, the Christmas anthology I participated in, is a Selah Finalist. I share more below.

On a personal note, my husband and I celebrated our four-year anniversary in March. (The pic above is from us leaving our COVID backyard wedding. We had a more formal wedding that July). Having a spring anniversary suits me because spring is my favorite season. Yellow daffodils usher hope that life is renewed. Dogwoods bloom with hoary white flowers. Leaves tenderly grow on bare branches, and sparse brown grass transform into carpets of verdant green.

When I got married, I experienced “spring” at forty-six-years old, but I had longed to be married since my twenties. So you can imagine the oceans of tears I shed through the years, but it was worth the wait!

If you’re single and long to find a spouse, hold onto hope. I also share my dating story here to encourage you:

Last night, I emailed Love at the Mayo, Book 2 in the Mayo Love Series to a paid beta reader. I’m relieved I’m on schedule for my publishing timeline.

For those who’ve read Christmas at Sonshine Barn, I loved incorporating elements into Book 2. I thought of you when I wrote scenes when Celine discovers the bracelet’s journey and learns more about Garrett.

I want to provide fun interactive content with these characters (I’ll start with Garrett), but want to customize it to suit you. Please take a one-question quiz to let me know what you want.

Selah Finalists

Little did us Lady Lit authors know what would happen when we decided to write a Christmas anthology. Since we enjoyed each other’s company, we thought it’d be fun to collaborate. We each wrote a short story, shared a family recipe, and donated our proceeds to charity.

Even though we worked hard on the project for months, we didn’t expect Good Tidings to become a Selah award finalist. Talk about a delightful Christmas gift in March! (We will know if we win in May at the Blue Ridge Conference.)

I’m overjoyed because the book represents the beauty of our group forging our strengths, unifying in our faith, and inspiring each other through our work. Lady Lits represents a sisterhood where we’ve laughed, cried, and rejoiced together. Shared our struggles and successes not just in our author endeavors but our personal lives as well. Perhaps that’s what the judges sensed when they reviewed Good Tidings.

If you want to purchase Good Tidings, here’s a universal link for the bookseller of your choice.

If you enjoyed this newsletter, and know someone who would, please share it with them. Thank you.
